Parkour, or free running, is a hugely exhilarating and enjoyable pastime ideally suited to the active pensioner.
Before tackling the more demanding challenges, you should become adept at the basics, such as boarding a bus without using a step ladder, jumping over two packs of playing cards and leaning over to touch the wall from an upright position. Having mastered these, you should then progress to an area you already know well to further hone your skills. A supermarket car park makes an excellent practice zone, and within a few weeks you should be able to fall into an ornamental bush without hurting yourself, skip unaided while wheeling a shopping trolley and climb onto a car bonnet in under a minute. You can then begin to put together all of these movements into one seamlessly elegant arabesque which will enthrall and beguile all who witness it.
